Founded in 2024 by a group of education enthusiasts and community leaders, the Umoja Learning Initiative is the result of a collective realization. Faced with the unique challenges encountered by the Black Francophone community in Canada, our founders recognized the urgent need to create educational programs and support services tailored to our cultural and linguistic reality.

From the initial idea to the creation of our first programs, our journey has been guided by an unwavering desire to make a positive difference. Today, Umoja positions itself as a catalyst for change, working to bridge gaps in access to education and opportunities.
